The calculator has specific keys for entering both the square root and the cube root of a number.

Finding the Square Root of a Number

To find the square root of a number, such as , press the 2nd key, then press the key. Note the square root symbol in yellow above this key. Now enter the number 16, close the parentheses, and then press ENTER. See how the calculator screen looks below.

Finding the Cube Root of a Number

It is also possible to take the cube root of a number, but that function must be selected from a menu. To take the , press MATH. Then press 4 to select ( , the cube root. Next enter 8, close the parentheses, then press ENTER. . See the results below.
