In order to see the effects of a ZOOM option,
a graph must already be displayed on the screen. To learn how to
enter and graph a function, go to Graphing

The ZOOM 1:Zbox option allows the user to define a box on the screen that will become the new VIEWING RECTANGLE.
To select the ZOOM 1:Zbox option, first press the ZOOM key and then select 1.
The cursor is flashing at (0,0) which cannot be seen in the picture above. Now use the ARROW keys to move the cursor to a spot that will become a corner of the new VIEWING RECTANGLE. Below the cursor has been moved with the UP ARROW, up the Y-axis to about (0, 3.2), then left with the LEFT ARROW, to about (-1.3, 3.2). Next, press ENTER to locate the upper left corner of the new VIEWING RECTANGLE. When ENTER is pressed, the cursor changes.

Now use the ARROW keys to form a box that will be the new VIEWING RECTANGLE. Below, the RIGHT ARROW key was used to extend the box to the right to about X = 1.06. Then the DOWN ARROW key was used to lower the box to about Y = .24. Finally, press the ENTER key to see the new VIEWING RECTANGLE with is the boxed in region expanded to the full screen.
